Join us for a special networking event geared towards understanding the integration of Avid and Final Cut Studio.

This event is free to all digital filmmakers, producers, editors and all in our community who wish to improve upon their editing skills and network with others editing HD projects with both Avid and Final Cut Studio.

Our Speakers are:

ERNIE SCHAEFFER
Ernie SchaefferErnie Schaeffer has been involved in media production for over 15 years as technical specialist, editor, compositor, composer, colorist and producer in various aspects of audio, video, web, DVD and development of high-level software applications. He has worked as technical director and consultant on DVD’s for world recognized artists like Maná. Ernie has worked in production teams on projects with Televisa, bringing rich experience and new media technologies. Ernie has been training and consulting creating production workflow processes for high level production clients like Channel 4 television of Guanajuato, Mexico. Ernie recently was the Post Production Supervisor for Sony Entertainment Television "Sessions with Alejandro Franco" which airs throughout all Latin America and Spain every Saturday prime time. Ernie is the author of Final Cut Studio HD Workflow Volume 1, a workflow training seriespublished by All4dvd inc. where he is Head of Training and has recently teamed up with The Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University (CDIABU) as Consulting Director for the Apple Certified master program.

Howard Phillips:
Associate Director of CDIA Digital Film Program
Howard PhillipsHoward has been involved in film and video work for over 20 years. His first venture was a business specializing in corporate and music video productions, earning a slot on MTV’s Basement Tapes with his production of Fools for Fashion by The Talk. In 1988, after working as a freelance cameraperson in the US and in Europe, he moved to Boston and founded The Edit House, Avid’s first dedicated 24fps beta site which provided film editorial and postproduction services to over 80 feature films. Over an eight-year period, Howard made significant contributions to Avid’s Film Composer quality assurance team and was invited to share in Avid’s second Technical Oscar® (SciTech Award) in 1998. Howard currently teaches and provides testing/ consulting services to companies such as Aaton, Arriflex, Avid and Panasonic. He studied film and television at Montana State University and is fluent in French. Recent projects include assistant editing, camera and translation for the Jon Fauer ASC’s Cinematographer Style, and post production manager on independent and CDIA film and digital video projects.
