Join the FCPUG Network, including SF Cutters, lafcpug, BOSFCPUG and other FCPUG and digital video user groups around the Globe in San Francisco, CA for the largest gathering of FCP and digital content creators and Gurus on the Planet - SuperMeet Workshops during the day in tandem with the SuperMeet Digital Showcase and SuperMeet

- Best of the Best – Tips, Tricks, and Secret Techniques in FCP 7 - Returning to the Stage: Abba Shapiro and Steve Martin!
Grab an energy drink, buckle up, and clear your mind for this fast and furious tips and tricks session. FCS Gurus Abba Shapiro and Steve Martin team up to bring you some the hidden new features in FCP 7 as well as classic tricks to make you edit faster and smarter. This is the first time in years that Abba and Steve will appear on the same stage at the same time on stage!

About Abba Shapiro:
Abba has been using FCP since April 1999 – Launch day! He is a Lead instructor for Apple's Pro Apps training program, certifying trainers worldwide in Final Cut Studio. He also teaches the on-line FCP7 training course for Lynda.com and is a co-author of the advanced tips and tricks book, "Final Cut Studio on the Spot." Abba Shapiro is also an award-winning writer/producer/director with over 25 years' experience in video and film production. His production company, Shapiro Video & Multimedia, works in every format from DVCAM to HD to 35 mm film. Abba has done work for a wide range of commercial, corporate, and federal clients, including USA Today, The Associated Press, NASA, The CW, Univision, and Department of Defense.

About Steve Martin:
Steve is the president and founder of Ripple Training. Steve has over 20 years of experience as an editor, producer and trainer, is a lead instructor for Apple's Certified Training (ACT) program. He also is the co-host of Pixel Corp's  MacBreak Studio - a weekly video podcast focusing on Mac-based production tools.

About Alex Lindsay:
Alex Lindsay has been working in computer graphics and video production for over 20 years. Starting in Programming and Computer Aided Drafting, Alex has worked in print, games, interactive, broadcast, and film. He spent 3 years working at Lucasfilm and Industrial Light and Magic on "Star Wars: Episode 1" before starting his own companies, dvGarage and the Pixel Corps. dvGarage builds tools for the Visual Effects community.

- The New Up: "Bitch" - Peggy Peralta and Albert Lopez

"Bitch," from the San Francisco indie band, "The New Up," is one of the first music videos shot on a DSLR. Director of Photography Peggy Peralta and Final Cut Pro editor Albert Lopez will show the music video and share the workflow. Hassan Said directed.

 

About Peggy Peralta:
Peggy is a graduate of the University of the Philippines and obtained her MFA in Motion Pictures and Television with emphasis on Cinematography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. An award-winning and multi-faceted cinematographer, Peggy has collaborated on over 20 films dealing with diverse themes and cross-cultural subjects. Her works are distinct for their heart, energy and perspective. Geared with a spontaneous spirit and an inquisitive mind, every project she dives into becomes an opportunity to discover, create and inspire. In 2008, she founded Head of the Dog Pictures, a creative shop based in San Francisco, California. She lives in the Tenderloin with her partner Lourdes Figueroa, a poet and freelance photographer. They are happy when sunburnt.

Open Screen Theater - GET SEEN...

Open Screen TheaterWe've added an exciting component to the SuperMeet. You will be able to showcase your projects in what we are calling the "Open Screen Theater." Filmmakers and digital content creators wanting to get seen will have a a 10 minute chance to do so in an informal, collaborative setting in the Fisher Banquet. We want those who are shooting with HDSLRS, camcorders, iphones and anything that makes video to screen your content and interact. Just show up and sign up, get up and show off. It's first come, first serve in our "Open Screen Theater." Bring your content on a DVD or a QT movie on a drive. Sign-ups begin at 3:30PM.
